How to do Spring Racing when you’re not in Melbourne

Spring racing in Melbourne is amazing, you can feel that the whole city is alive and happy. The weather is starting to get better, there is a new season of fashion to shop, and there is an event almost every weekend to get dressed up for and celebrate with your friend. But what if you’re not in Melbourne? The weather is still nice, the clothes all there too, but it is missing the main event, the actual horse racing! Sure you can watch it on the TV and pretend you’re there but it is not really the same, you don’t get to catch the train to Flemington, see all of the amazing dresses or try to sneak into the bird cage, plus they show too many horse races!

Here are our tips for celebrating The Spring Racing Carnival if you can’t get to Melbourne.

Host a Fashions on the field competition with your girlfriends!

Get all of your friends around for a day of Fashions and Champagne! Have your own best dressed competition, with an amazing prize like and an Edible Bloom with a Bottle of Champagne. Or if it is too hard to choose a winner just get a big chocolate bouquet to share with everyone!

Have your own “Horse Races”

Pair up and have races against each other, one person the “horse” and the other the jockey. This is the perfect way to get out and enjoy the sunshine, it may need to be held at a park for the longer races. The winner receiving a huge chocolate bouquet!

Go to your local Race Course

On the big days of racing most Horse racing clubs will have the races showing and hold their own events, making it a great day for you and all of your friends.

Run a Sweep

This one is easy and if you have to work it is a great excuse to watch the race and have some fun in the afternoon. If you organise prizes for 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd you could get the whole office involved.

Host a High Tea

Ladies Day is perfect opportunity to have all of your girlfriends over and enjoy the finer things in life; Champagne, Chocolate, and more champagne. Place some bets and relax with your besties!

So even if you can’t make it to Melbourne to enjoy the festivities at least you can celebrate in your own way with your Friends and Edible Blooms.
