What do the AFL Grand Final and Edible Blooms have in common? We know this is a hard one because there are so many options, we both create cheers, we watch our deliveries and it could go on and on but the very specific and special thing we share is that we bring people together!
Ah of course you get it now! The AFL Grand Final and Edible Blooms are both about spreading joy and finding common ground for people to come together both in celebration and in hard times.
AFL is the great Australian pass time, what are you doing on a Friday night? Watching the footy, Saturday afternoon? Footy again, what sport are you taking your little ones to on a Sunday morning? You guessed it! It’s footy again and again! And there is nothing that brings people together like the AFL Grand Final, this bad boy is about the food, it’s about the game, it’s about wearing hideous colours that we are brainwashed into thinking don’t clash and so much more!
So we know the AFL Grand Final 2019 is just around the corner and while hopefully one day we will come together as a nation and build an arena big enough to fit all of Australia, this very realistic dream is not yet reality and so! We have devised a very wonderful and very specific list of ways to celebrate the AFL Grand Final at home, so strap in!
Have A Cook Off
What is better than celebrating competition with another competition?! The answer is nothing, nothing is better. Other than the AFL Grand Final itself, the food is the most important party of the day. And don’t you know it, while you’re watching your team battle it out you should be wearing your chef’s hat and making sure your BBQ is THE BBQ.
The game doesn’t usually start until mid-afternoon and yet in true Aussie fashion the festivities normally begin mid-morning so eating is the perfect thing to do while watching all of the pre-game celebrations! Some friendly competition never hurt anyone and a little Edible Blooms take home trick, if you’re the host, setting up a cook off is a great way to it make sure everybody brings something! Perhaps in the AFL Grand Final 2019 there can only be one team on that podium, but you sure can bet everybody wins at the food party.

Even if your team isn’t playing it is still good to show your support, even though you’re crying on the inside no one needs to know that at a party, why not take that extra step to hide your sorrow and completely disguise yourself?! Plus players of the past and present have sported some pretty wonderful facial hair and hair styles over the years so if looking ridiculous is something you enjoy, this is your time to shine! AFL Grand Final 2019 get up!
Also, a dress up party is the best kind of party. Period. We won’t be taking questions about this at this time.
Make It A Footy Themed Day
The AFL Grand Final isn’t only for the professionals, get right into it! Play some marks up, a scratch match, anything that makes you feel even more involved, the AFL Grand Final is about so much more than the game itself so be creative and get yourself moving. If you focus really super-duper hard you can even pretend you’re playing Auskick out on the field during half time, um fun! This one is fabulous if you’re celebrating with your young ones because it gets their blood pumping and they really need to get a taste for this kind of thing early if they are going love the AFL Grand Final as much as you do.
It’s okay to be a footy mum, it’s not the same thing as a stage mum, we promise.
